Its halloween, and Singaporeans (mostly) being the boring, conservative and introverted people that they are, would probably be sitting nicely in their comfy sofas staring away at their television sets all night through. The occasional Supermans or Robins that you may catch sight of roaming the streets would unsurprisingly be non-Singaporeans. Trick-or-treating would've been fun, except that, a)i've got nobody to go with and b)there's project work presentation tomorrow. Besides, how many households would actually spare you some sweets? Instead of staring you down with some "wtf" look. In conclusion, Singaporeans are boring people. Mostly.
Miss Jill Toh requested for me to "arpdate" my blog and therefore i am.
wabf anyways?
Today's lunch was massive. Paulaner Brauhaus is shiok. Drank until i turned a little reddish but remained sober, contrary to what some of the relatives thought. Ate until the pants didn't fall off my hips so easily. Oh, bought a shirt before lunch from some shop around that area. Anything 50% off is sexy.
I can almost safely say that i have mastered the art of bullshit-ting. My 3minute12second oral presentation script was just extended to 4 minutes 48 seconds. Perfect timing, in more ways than one. All that's left is to memorize it, or at least get the whole gist of it. By tomorrow. Mmm, no sweat.
Roight. Project Work is really a pain. I thought i had seen the end of it in Secondary 3 after that disastrous project on something to do with obesity(i think), until now it comes back again. Ugh. Thank goodness its going to be over in less than 24 hours.
vic: Sorry i didn't reply to your tag until now... But i wouldn't have been able to make it for the competition anyways.
Open house was crazy. We probably had more fun than the visitors that came down.
The mass dances saw 'intrusions' of sort but they were welcome nonetheless by the spectators. The green umbrella, mmm. Attention seeking, maybe, but entertaining for sure. Then the soccer band performance saw five soccer team members absolutely rock the hall. Not with their error-filled numbers, but rather with vibrant stage antics. Juggling the ball on stage, sliding on the knees, jumping around, provocative actions that induced some ill comments from parents and not to mention horrible singing. Well after all, entertaining the masses is the first priority, and i think we just might have achieved that. Not long after it was the finale mass dance, and what would a mass dance be without a little extra something from the soccer team. Won't say we messed things up, but rather we added that extra little bit of spice to the item. Doing stupid things is fun.
And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call
She won't forsake me
I'm loving (angels) instead
Promos are long over but the freedom that is supposed to have come coupled with it has yet to arrive, if it is going to come in the first place. Training is just about everyday which means there aren't any days when I can actually go out somewhere or just rest at home. The effects of this are starting to show too. Muscles starting to ache here and there and they feel like they're going to get pulled sooner or later. Flu doesn't seem to want to go away either. Oh well...
The programme for school today was all the inter-house games. Street soccer, basketball, softball, flooball etc. I actually planned beforehand to take part in the street soccer tournament only as a substitute. Then any hopes of even warming the bench were dashed when i heard that weian didn't hand in the registration form for our house team. So i just hung around the soccer table until news came by that there was actually a Venn house team participating. So i ended up playing.
Sat out for the first game, then played the rest of the games. Two goalless draws, a one-nil win and a lucky penalty shoot out saw us advance to the semis, which we eventually crashed out due to a single Hose goal. Quite an accomplishment for a Venn house team nevertheless. En route to that semi-final match, i had some crazy guy kick me in the side while going for a high ball. Wasn't really serious, though i made it look quite so. Heh...
After the games ended, the soccer team started kicking the ball around for some self-training. Then Roland calls me over and gets me to run 2.4km "for my own good". Running rounds in the hot hot sun doesn't really appeal to me, but it wasn't like i had much of a choice. Felt quite good after the run anyways, but the effects of it started to set in only after few hours. Until now, the headache still hasn't gone away. Ugh...
Oh by the way, i didn't realise until today that handphone numbers now start with the number "8" as well. Heh call me slow but i'm sure not all of you knew that too. Right?
It's been a while. Finally i shall blog PROPERLY, rather than flood the blog with some ripped quiz or just leave a scanty paragraph with a smiley face at the end.
Hmm, so what exactly has been happening since the last, last post? 20th September was quite a while ago, so naturally lots of things would have happened. Things like
semi-mugging for the promos. After the GP and Chinese papers, i actually had more than a week without school because of consultation and no-paper-days, and i had planned to go out of my house to study, knowing that studying at home rarely reaped results(ooh alliteration). Sadly, being the lazy shit procrastinator that i am, it never happened. Not once did i take my books out of the house, but rather i attempted the impossible feat of studying in my room. No surprise of the outcome.
Firstly, it took me a couple of days, maybe more, to realise that i had to sit at my desk instead of rolling about the room in a chair with some papers on my lap. Then, it took me another few hours before i learnt that music in the background doesn't serve any purpose besides distracting me. You know how it feels when you start paying attention to the song and not your work. Or when some irritating song starts playing and you have to go and skip to the next track. You get the picture.
Though there are the times when i suddenly manage to concentrate for an abnormal length of time and absorb what i couldn't during lecture time. Things finally started making more sense, except for vectors of course, and the promos weren't as scary as before. Then again, much more would have been completed outside this room of mine.
Sometimes you feel that you've done pretty decently for an exam, and when you get your scripts back it slaps you in the face. Hope that's not going to be the case in two weeks. Not saying that i'm confident of getting 4A's and what shit, i'm not quite as intelligent as those in my class. I'll probably be the first to drop a subject in the class. My F. Math paper was screwed up really nicely with only about half the marks lost. Oh well, "three subjects" does have a friendlier ring to it. We'll see what happens.
P.S. New layout, if you didn't notice.
Finally promos are over and I can blog freely again. Mmm smell the fresh air. New layout should come soon. Well it really depends how often i feel bored enough to make a new one. Just a quick update, more to come.
