It Was A Beautiful Letdown

Two days into the prelims and it hasn't been going all so smoothly. One thing after another goes wrong, screws up and it all just repeats and repeats. Utterly irritating. Well, at least I tried.

Three Weeks Notice

I guess I never did get to finish the previous post, even after... a long time. Oh well... Nevermind. Procrastination at it's very best.

Studying, no, mugging for prelims hasn't been as productive as I hoped it to be.

FIRST, I WAS FASCINATED BY A BUNCH OF BIRDS PECKING AT LEFTOVERS.

THEN I ENDED UP PEOPLE-WATCHING AND TAKING RANDOM PHOTOS.

Which got me thinking... Is jeans and slippers still the fashion? (For guys that is) I don't know, I could never bring myself to doing something like that. But that's not important, is it?
Yesterday I saw some vandalism/graffiti that should really be classified as... art. I won't disclose the location so as to TRY to protect the identities of those who did it. I also blurred out names for the same purpose. I don't think my phone camera did it any justice, you should really see it for yourself. Heh...

SHE LOOKS A BIT LIKE SOMEONE I KNOW OF...

By the way, if the "artist" doesn't want me to post these pictures, leave a comment or something. Anyways, I just received a phonecall from someone I haven't heard from or seen in a very VERY long time... and it brought a little bit of excitement into my boring Saturday morning. I need more of this kind of surprises...

Some Birthday...

After spending National Day out of the house, something that I haven't really done before, I've come to learn a lot about the average (or not-so average) Singaporean. During my (long) walk (under the scorching sun) from the house to the busstop, I barely saw anyone wearing red. Which made me wonder if what I was doing was taboo or something. In town at least there were slightly more red shirts, and then the occasional family decked in red I-Love-Singapore tees. And if you were lucky, you could have seen people like this. Rather sexy. I'm not being sarcastic because that's something I don't think I would ever be able to do.

THAT'S WO.

I found Singaporeans to be rather... boring(?) people. I'm not exactly sure what word I should be using to describe this but nevermind. After watching Stealth, which was not bad by the way, the bestfriend and I headed to the Esplanade. Over there the crowd was already quite huge. Arrived just in time to see the parachutists making their way down to the Padang(from the sky of course). But before the second guy could touch down the sweltering 6pm sun forced us to seek respite inside the Esplanade. Walking over to the other side of the place, we found a huge (and i mean HUGE) crowd gathered around a few people. Going closer we finally saw what the fuss was all about.

THEY WERE 'DANCING'. EVERYONE WAS MESMERIZED. WE WERE LAUGHING.

What I'd like to know is what's up with the costumes? Okay fine at least it was red, but what's with the horns and spikes and pseudo dirty dancing? And during all that, the crowd just stood, and stared, and stared, and stared. Like they were some exhibits or something. Wonder what an ang moh's impression of Singapore became after seeing that.

Then there's the ugly side of Singaporeans. The people there were either deaf, stubborn, or just plain stupid. The security people were rendered pretty much useless thanks to people who just refused to move their fat asses when asked to. "Excuse me" probably doesn't work anymore either as nobody uses it, and neither do they respond to it. What to do? Push, shove and squeeze. Don't worry, nobody will get pissed off because they do it too.

FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION?

I'll just leave you with pictures for now. I've got to finish this another day. Hopefully.
